Free Webinar: 2026 Green Communities - A Practical Guide for Affordable Housing Teams, November 18, 12 pm ET
Event Description

Whether you're pursuing Green Communities certification for the first time or transitioning from previous versions of the standard, this introductory webinar will help you navigate the 2026 Enterprise Green Communities Criteria with confidence. Participants will receive an overview of the program's three core themes—health, energy, and resilience—explore key updates across the eight criteria categories, and learn how the certification process works from prebuild through postbuild review. Presenters will highlight what has changed, what remains familiar, and the tools and resources available to help affordable housing teams successfully certify projects under the 2026 Criteria.

Lessons Learned -

1. Understand that the 2026 Enterprise Green Communities Criteria prioritize health by integrating design strategies that promote physical well-being and access to healthy environments for residents.

2. Analyze the safety measures embedded within the certification process, which ensure building practices adhere to standards that protect residents throughout construction and occupancy.

3. Introduce programs and policies that enhance welfare by fostering community engagement and providing access to essential resources in affordable housing projects.

4. Articulate the importance of comprehensively understanding the certification levels to effectively navigate from Green Communities to more advanced options like Green Communities Plus and Zero Emissions for optimal project outcomes.
