Cellulose insulation as a blown in material is well known but lesser known is the batt solid form it can take which allows it to be used in other unique circumstances and DIY projects. Join us to learn about this application, design guidelines, installation methods and the sustainable benefits of cellulose including local production, reduced embodied carbon.

Lessons Learned

  • Understand that cellulose insulation, in both its blown and batt forms, offers a healthier indoor air quality by utilizing non-toxic materials that help reduce allergens and pollutants.
  • Analyze the safety measures involved in the installation of cellulose insulation to minimize risks associated with airborne particles during the application process.
  • Introduce the concept of using sustainable materials like cellulose insulation to enhance the welfare of local communities through reduced environmental impact and support for local production.
  • Articulate the benefits of understanding embodied energy in cellulose insulation, emphasizing its lower carbon footprint compared to conventional insulation materials, which contributes positively to environmental welfare.
