BEC-National Symposium on Building Science and Enclosure Technology, September 25
Event Description

BEC's National Symposium on Building Science and Enclosure Technology, a full-day event bringing together architects, engineers, contractors, researchers, and manufacturers for an in-depth look at the latest advances and challenges in building enclosure design and performance.

Held at the Chicago Architecture Center, the symposium will feature a series of expert-led sessions exploring how today’s building professionals can deliver more durable, energy-efficient, and resilient structures. Topics include strategies for minimizing glass distortion in curtainwall systems, lessons from major recladding and modernization projects, best practices for retrofitting existing and historic buildings, and managing critical air, water, and thermal transitions across the enclosure. Attendees will also gain valuable insight into real-world issues such as freeze-thaw and salt damage in masonry, and how performance testing and quality control can ensure long-term results.

In addition to technical presentations, the symposium provides a forum for discussion across disciplines, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration. Participants will have opportunities to connect with leading voices in the field, explore case studies from across the country, and walk away with actionable strategies that can be applied immediately to design and construction practice.

The BEC National Symposium offers practical guidance and forward-looking perspectives to help advance high-performance building enclosures, whether fpr new construction, adaptive reuse, or building retrofits,.
