Free Webinar: Commercial Stretch Energy Code - Targeted & Relative Performance Paths (Two Part series), September 22, 10 am - 12 pm ET
Event Description

New commercial buildings over 20,000 ft2 must use a performance path for compliance with the 2023 Massachusetts Stretch Energy Code. This two-part training focuses on the two most used performance-based compliance options. The Targeted Performance path requires projects to use energy modeling to demonstrate compliance with the heating and cooling Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI) targets. This training will review performance path code requirements, including energy modeling, documentation, special rules for additions and alterations, core-and-shell requirements and others.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Articulate the energy modeling requirements of the Targeted Performance Path (TEDI) and sample envelope designs that were shown to comply with TEDI.
  2. Apply the performance-based compliance options to retrofits, core-and-shell projects, and additions.
  3. Describe energy code requirements that projects following the performance paths must meet in addition to energy modeling.
  4. List the documentation that must be submitted to code officials for projects following the performance paths.
