Event Description

This training is designed to equip building department staff with a clear understanding of the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) and its role in advancing sustainability within the state's building sector. Participants will be introduced to the core requirements, terminology, and objectives of CALGreen, providing a clear understanding of its application in both residential and non-residential construction projects. The course will also highlight key mandatory and voluntary code provision updates introduced in the 2025 CALGreen code, ensuring participants are current with the latest standards. By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify key components and triggers of CALGreen, understand the compliance and enforcement process, and recognize how CALGreen contributes to statewide and local environmental and energy-efficiency goals.
