Home Energy Rater System (HERS) Rater Training, Online, July 21 - August 6, 8:30 am -12:30 pm ET
Event Description
With Southface Institute, attendees can become a certified RESNET Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rater, one of the highest residential energy credentials that can be earned by an individual. Led in real time by highly experienced instructors, online training makes it easy to earn HERS certification. Three weeks of training prepare for three years of HERS rating certification!
HERS certification is one of the highest residential energy credentials that can be earned by an individual. With Southface Institute’s HERS Rater training, attendees learn to apply building science-based knowledge with industry-approved energy modeling software and enhanced diagnostic tools. A HERS rating can be performed on both new and existing homes and is utilized by numerous energy and green building certification programs, including ENERGY STAR, EarthCraft House, LEED for Homes, and National Green Building Standard, as well as many utility programs and energy code compliance efforts. Southface’s online, instructor-led training puts attendees face-to-face with industry experts to help them master challenging content and attain their HERS rating certification.
Successful completion of this training will set students well on their way to becoming certified HERS Raters. Once students pass all required exams, they are allowed to join a Certified Home Energy Rating Provider and conduct their provisional ratings, the last step to becoming a certified HERS Rater.
Students who complete this course are also eligible for CEUs from the following organizations: AIA, BPI, and ICC.
Southface’s HERS Rater Training is broken up into ten individual training days that prepare students to take three online RESNET exams and one field exam. The course schedule is designed to help students internalize dense concepts, retaining the necessary information to pass all required exams. The course schedule breaks up the course content into manageable chunks, allowing students time to learn and process the extensive course curriculum. The ten training days are spread over three weeks, followed by one week of exams.
Note: This training period starts from the 21st of July and ends on the 6th of August.
