Event Description

The Green California Summit – Northern California brings together leaders from state and local government, K–12 schools, higher education, and the sustainability community for a day of education, collaboration, and recognition. Attendees will hear from influential keynote speakers helping shape California’s environmental future, participate in timely educational sessions focused on the policies, challenges, technologies, and best practices impacting the public sector, and connect with peers working toward a healthier, more resilient California.

The Summit will also celebrate outstanding leadership through the Green California Leadership Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations whose work is creating meaningful and lasting change. Whether you oversee facilities, sustainability, energy, operations, planning, education, or public policy, the Summit is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, build valuable connections, and be part of the conversations moving California forward.

The Summit’s Education Program will address the emerging priorities, challenges, policies, and opportunities shaping sustainability across California’s public sector. Session topics are currently to be determined and will be informed in part by the Summit’s upcoming Advisory Board meetings, bringing together public-sector leaders and subject-matter experts to help identify the issues most important to their peers and communities.

The program will be developed to represent all four key public-sector areas—K–12 schools, higher education, local government, and state government—with potential topics including sustainable and high-performance facilities, energy efficiency and decarbonization, climate resilience, water conservation, waste reduction, transportation, environmental literacy, funding, emerging regulations, and practical case studies. The goal is to create a timely, relevant education program that provides attendees with actionable information, proven strategies, and lessons learned that they can take back to their organizations and communities.
