Free Webinar: Energy Efficiency and IAQ - When and What to Monitor in a Home, September 24
Event Description

As homes become more energy efficient through air sealing, insulation, and HVAC upgrades, ensuring healthy indoor air quality (IAQ) becomes more important. This webinar will explore how energy efficiency measures can actually support improved IAQ, what indicators to measure (and when), and how monitoring and ventilation strategies can balance energy savings with occupant health. Tailored for energy auditors, retrofit professionals, and program managers, this session will provide guidance on practical measurement approaches, key pollutants, and when testing adds value.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

- Explain how common energy efficiency measures influence indoor air quality.

- Identify key IAQ indicators (CO₂, particulates, VOCs, humidity) and where they originate (indoor vs. outdoor sources).

- Decide when spot testing and/or monitoring is appropriate in retrofit or audit workflows.

- Recognise why ventilation is a requirement in efficient homes and how to align it with “tight” construction practices.

- Apply practical field-tested methods that balance energy savings with occupant comfort and health.
