Event Description

This course focuses on the design and operational considerations required to successfully implement and sustain industrial decarbonization strategies. The PG&E instructor will address how to evaluate existing systems, identify future-ready upgrade pathways, and apply an efficiency-first approach to system design.

    • Farzan Kazemifar

      Farzan Kazemifar is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the San Jose State University (SJSU) and Principal at Dena Energy consulting firm. He is the Founding Director of SJSU Industrial Training and Assessment Center (ITAC). His expertise is in fluid and thermal processes with applications in energy systems and sustainability, and has given 40+ international conference presentations and published 13 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Kazemifar is a certified Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) and a registered Professional Engineer in California. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
