Decarbonization and ESG Fundamentals workshop and exam
Event Description

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting encompasses a wide range of topics, and it can be challenging for teams to know where to start, what to prioritize, and how to justify the required efforts. This workshop will provide small businesses with the necessary information to answer these questions, perform baseline assessments, and report supply chain information to their clients and agencies.

Many companies are facing increasing pressure to understand the environmental impacts of their work, especially in identifying their contributions to greenhouse gas emissions through Scope 1, Scope 2, and now Scope 3 emissions calculations. However, smaller businesses often lack the knowledge required to track emissions contributions and report to their clients as part of their emissions reporting.

Brightworks Sustainability has partnered with USGBC-CA to present a unique workshop designed specifically for small businesses. The workshop aims to educate businesses on carbon accounting and ESG reporting, allowing them to demonstrate leadership in these areas. Our experts will guide participants through the voluntary frameworks and provide them with the tools to analyze their business operations, report to clients, and make improvements that will benefit people, the planet, and profit.

This workshop will enable local businesses, including commercial, industrial, and contractors, to compete for contracts in a marketplace that is increasingly demanding in terms of emissions reporting. By raising awareness of their emissions and the need to compete in reducing them, businesses will be encouraged to reduce energy and material use over time, contributing to a more sustainable region.
